The Internet has represented a major change from the time it started in 1945 as Vannevar Bush, an American engineer, inventor and science administrator create “memex” (name of the hypothetical, hypertext can easily be accessed by using mouse click or key press sequences) which was an innovative, mechanical and particularly library system. In 1960s, Advanced Research Projects Agency known as ARPA which represented the biggest domain in the ranking of Damien Name System of Internet.

He worked with early computer and internet pioneer so that he could establish mouse with the help of hypertext structure.

In 1994, Yahoo was launched followed by Google which was founded by Harry Page and Sergey Brin in 1998. In 2001, Wikipedia was launched later came the Facebook in 2004 along with Myspace which became in trend. According to Internet growth Stats, the Data in Table 1 shows the number of users keep on increasing every month as In March 2007, 1,129 million used Internet World Stats which represented 17.2 percent of the world population with the rapidly accessing information through Internet.

Whereas, the growth rate reaches at 42.4% in December 2014. Recently, in the month of December it showed the people using the internet as 4,157 million at 54.47 growth rate. Moreover, the information resource remains the same as Internet World Stats for all users. However, it shows the upward trend in the number of person using the internet for various reasons. Introduction Social Media

Social media is stifling. Social media has now become the progression. And for the trade it serves as a commerce movement that transforms the conventional mediator and attach association precisely with consumer. Long time ago social media was not popular as compared to now.

This is why approximately whole employment on the earth- from behemoth like Starbucks and IBM to the provincial ice cream stand- are examining social media commerce leadership. Certainty and kindness are the foundations of social networking, and by trade in the field of social media their essence concept need to be attached.

It is perhaps the only marketing platform that stimulates complete evidence of disclosure and answerability among trader and purchaser. Global companies have identified social media marketing as a possible marketing floor, applied them with modernization to function their advertising operation with social media marketing (Neti, 2011).

Internet and Social Media

The tendency of Social Media represents an uplift in the number of users. It is the platform where seller can provide information about the products and services that attract the specific people accordingly to their interest.

As can be seen in the marketing of the different forms where the person holding the market can keep in control of the messaging, there is no control in the social media. The Global village of internet and communications, deals, selling and purchasing and other activities are in today’s times available on these social media websites. However, social media also plays a major role in the society. India

Social media is gaining tremendous popularity in India. Nearly two third of Indians spend time on various social networking sites. In 2004, Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook to connect with other Individuals. YouTube was created in 2005 by Steve Chen and Chad Hurley that created the online platform of sharing videos along with creation and sharing site. In 2017 Facebook had 241 billion users, LinkedIn had 42 million users and twitter included 23.2 million users.

In India Government supports social media. It is expected that coming elections will play a different role in social media. Prime Minister, Narender Modi has conducted social media attention in a way that he hosted a political conference on Google+ hangouts making him the third politician across the globe after Obama, 44th President of USA and Julian Gillard, former Prime Minister of Australia. Moreover,

“The second mass use of social media in India was the May 2009 national elections, when, for the first time, online voter registration and transparency campaigns started” that was almost the first time when leading parties in politics tried to bring up the conversations on the voters group on social media. So, this is how social media has showed many changes in India and worldwide. It makes a step forward to taken an initiative to talk to people directly moreover the cost occurs less in this way and can reach large number of people in a modern approach. This is one of the way that government does not defeat social media rather promotes it (MC, PK and v, 2015).

Social media is now the technological development. It includes forms such as Blogs, social bookmarking, Microblogs, Photo Sharing and Business network. Indian society has become a new High-Tech society which is extremely dependant on the daily lives of the people. With the help of social media Indian users get to know about the economic advancement in different countries, which often lead to Brain drain. However, Business depends on social media to understand its consumer response in a way of feedback, increasing understanding of how the customer views its product.

As per stats counter Global Stats, table 3, presents the information of different social networking websites and their usage among Indians along with a bar graph which clearly states Facebook shows a from 85.3 percent in the month of January which lead to certain downfall in the month of April. However, the other websites are less accessed as compared to Facebook.

Recently, ICIC bank on 5th April,2018 launched a service as “Social Pay” where a Non-Resident can send money in India to their family and friends on different occasions like- Birthdays, anniversary and festivals. India’s trash can be cleared with the help of social media.

In different states with the emergence of social media some actions in India’s major municipalities such as- If there is any garbage seen the photo is being taken and shared on what’s app with the Garbage police so that appropriate action is taken either the clean-up is done by the citizen or by the municipal crew. In that way the offender has to pay the fine. Babasaheb Rajale, deputy municipal corporation was in charge of social of solid waste management for Navi Mumbai controlled five officers fielding garbage complaint on social media till March 2018. In November the Delhi State Government introduced an application called “Swachh Delhi” so that illegally dumbed garbage photo can be uploaded and action can be taken. Same in Bihar, with the help of social media “MY Patna App” was created so that any illegal thing can be uploaded with the appropriate action taken in a way that the violators are charged fine. Moreover, the State Can Improve (Businessweek, 2016).

United States of America

Social networking is increasing in America during the past several decades. It has the third largest internet users. Later radio and television were used in America but now Internet ruled the market. From reading the newspaper to now getting the news online. In 2017, 47.49 percent used Facebook, 35.03 percent Pinterest, 8.61 percent used Twitter however, only 1.75 percent used Instagram as per stat counter Global Stats. Media plays an influential role in Individual’s lives. It has affected the culture as the people are aware of what is going on socially. The awareness of social media and the ability to filter information from the media is known as media literacy. Being media literate allows a person to create their own opinion by taking information from media sources, filtering that information, and producing own idea, based upon what is learned and applied. The above graph represents Americans using social networking sites. 74 percent say that they use Facebook daily but it’s only 51 percent use several times in a day. Whereas, Snapchat is used by 49 percent people while 63 percent say that they use it daily. 38 percent individuals are active on Instagram however, only 26 percent people use it and YouTube has the number of 29 percent using it and 45 percent are the individuals who say that they use YouTube daily (Smith and Anderson, 2013).

As I came to know with my research work that Facebook is popular among all the countries and the countries has less number of users of Twitter and Instagram as compared to Facebook.
